Laura Powers, President of Powers Career Coaching, LLC, is an Executive Career Transition Coach with 23 years of experience helping accomplished mid-and senior-level executives from diverse industries, functions and career stages build the clarity, confidence and self-marketing skills needed to make satisfying, successful career moves. A former banker grounded in business, Laura combines her proven methodology and focused approach with a sales and marketing mindset and a high-touch, supportive coaching style to help her clients achieve results. Laura holds professional certifications in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator®, Strong Interest Inventory® and Social & Emotional Intelligence Profile (SEIP)® assessments and is a graduate of Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts, where she currently serves as an Alumnae/i Career Coach.
In addition to her work as a private coach, Laura’s corporate experience includes career coaching roles at 4 global and regional human resource consulting firms, a 5-year career advisory role with The Hartford Financial Services Group and earlier career experience as a corporate and private banking lender and business developer in the metropolitan New York area, serving middle market companies, executives, professional service firms and their partners.
A sought-after speaker on career and business development topics, Laura has presented at diverse organizations throughout the Northeast, including: the Business Council of Westchester (for which she designed and facilitates its StarPower leadership development program for Westchester’s current and up & coming Rising Stars), the Women’s Leadership & Empowerment Summit at Manhattanville College School of Business, the New York State Bar Association, the New York Public Library and the Stamford Innovation Center.
